From the New York Post last week: A beloved television hair and makeup artist was gunned down by her son at her Washington, DC-area home Sunday, according to reports.

Travis Renee Baldwin, 57, was shot to death allegedly by her 27-year-old son, Logan Chrisinger, inside her Arlington, Virginia, apartment just before 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Fox DC reported.

She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she died, according to officials.

Chrisinger remained at the scene after the alleged murder and is being held without bond at Arlington County Detention Facility.

Baldwin was a longtime television professional who most recently worked at outlet Newsmax, where she expertly plied her craft for anchors like Greta Van Susteren.

The horrific murder happened Sunday morning, August 17.

Van Susteren paid tribute to Baldwin in a post on X last week.

“What sadness….my Newsmax make up artist of 3 1/2 years, and years at
@ABC @espn etc and a friend to all of her colleagues…was murdered over the weekend…she did my make up Friday for the show and of course I never dreamed that would be the last time I would see her…” Van Susteren wrote.

Van Susteren also announced Baldwin’s tragic death in an on-air broadcast.

Newsmax correspondent James Rosen wrote simply, “Renee Baldwin RIP.”

NewsHour correspondent Ali Rogan wrote, “I worked with Renee at ABC. She was the kindest, sweetest person and always made everyone feel so welcome in her chair. This is such a horrific tragedy and a massive loss to everyone who knew and loved her.”

The Daily Signal sent flowers to the Newsmax staff.

Fox5DC editor Allison Papson posted Chrisinger’s mugshot and wrote:

The Arlington County Police Department is announcing charges in a domestic-related homicide in the Ballston-Virginia Square neighborhood. Logan Chrisinger, 27, of Arlington, VA was arrested and charged with Murder – 1st Degree, Aggravated Malicious Wounding and Using a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony. He is being held without bond in the Arlington County Detention Facility.

At approximately 8:28 a.m. on August 17, police were dispatched to the 3400 block of Fairfax Drive for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult female inside a residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers administered lifesaving measures before medics transported her to a local hospital. She later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The preliminary investigation indicates the suspect fatally shot his mother inside the residence. The suspect remained on scene when police arrived.
