In a stunning turn of events, over 2.8 MILLION people have signed a petition defending the illegal alien truck driver from India who caused the horrific crash in Florida on August 12 that killed 3 Americans.
Harjinder Singh from India snuck across the border into the U.S. in 2018. After the Biden administration gave Singh a work permit in 2021, he was then able to obtain a commercial driver’s license from both California and Washington.
It has since been revealed that Singh could not even speak English or understand highway traffic signs.
The petition, address to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, begins: “We, the undersigned, urge Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Board of Executive Clemency to re-examine and reduce the sentence for a 28-year-old truck driver involved in a fatal U-turn crash on Florida’s Turnpike in South Florida. This was a tragic accident — not a deliberate act. While accountability matters, the severity of the charges against him does not align with the circumstances of the incident.”
“No criminal intent or history: The incident was a catastrophe, not a criminal act. The driver has no prior record and fully cooperated with authorities,” the petition also claims.
The petition, calling for DeSantis to go light on the illegal alien truck driver, requests the following:
1. Impose a proportionate and reasonable sentence that reflects the reality this was a tragic accident, not an intentional act of harm. The punishment should be firm but fair — ensuring justice without being excessively harsh.
2. Allow parole eligibility after a fair portion of the sentence has been served, promoting rehabilitation, accountability, and the chance for a second opportunity in life.
3. Consider alternative sentencing measures — such as restorative justice, counseling, or community service — that uphold responsibility while also fostering compassion and true rehabilitation.
