REPORT: Trump nominated for Nobel Peace Prize by House GOP allies

From the Washington Examiner: President Donald Trump’s allies on Capitol Hill are recommending him for an honor he has long sought — a Nobel Peace Prize.

Reps. Andy Ogles (R-TN) and Marlin Stutzman (R-IN) sent a letter to the Nobel Committee to nominate Trump for the prize amid his high-profile talks to end the Russia-Ukraine war.

“We respectfully submit this nomination of President Donald J. Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, in recognition of his concrete contributions to international fraternity, his leadership in reducing conflict and the risk of war, and his commitment to fostering dialogue as a path toward reconciliation,” the letter reads.

The letter continues, “His decisive leadership in securing landmark diplomatic agreements, de-escalating global conflicts, and actively pursuing peaceful resolutions to some of the world’s most entrenched disputes has led and continues to lead to a more peaceful world.”

“President Trump’s foreign policy reflects a consistent philosophy: that peace is best secured through strength, clarity and direct engagement. He has shown a unique ability to bring adversaries to the table, to create openings where diplomacy had long failed, to achieve tangible outcomes while avoiding large-scale new U.S. troop deployments, and to bring greater fraternity among nations historically at odds with one another,” the letter reads.

Sharing a copy of the letter, Ogles writes, “Here is my official nomination of President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. His leadership has brought more peace and fewer wars than any world leader in modern history—this prize is his to win.”

“Because of President Trump’s leadership, there are fewer wars in the world. He’s the champion of America First diplomacy—showing that strength and prudence, not globalism, bring peace. Jesus says, “Blessed are the peacemakers.” President Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize,” Ogles continued.

“President Trump is the President of Peace! There is no one on the planet more deserving of this year’s @NobelPrize and multiple world leaders have recognized that. Glad to join @RepOgles on nominating @POTUS for this prestigious award,” Stutzman wrote.

“@POTUS’s leadership in reducing conflict and the risk of war, and his commitment to fostering dialogue as a path toward reconciliation make him the clear choice to win this year’s @NobelPrize‼️ Excited to see him receive this prestigious award in December,” Stutzman added in another post.
