MORNING DEVOTION (August 18)

1 John 1:5-7

5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

[King James version]

Commentary by Anneta G: This scripture reminds us that God alone holds the light we need to walk through life.  If we’re walking in the light of Christ, we can have fellowship with Him, and with one another.

When you’re walking through the darkness and someone else is holding the flashlight, you naturally want to stay very close to that person, so you can see where to go.

Shouldn’t it be even MORE important to stay as close to Jesus as we possibly can at all times, so we’ll have His light to guide us every day?

May the Lord bless and keep you as you walk with Him and live for Him today.   WATCH BELOW:
