INFILTRATED: Red states secretly advancing liberal agendas despite voter mandates, report alleges

From Fox News: A new report warns that red states are quietly adopting liberal policies — including DEI mandates, ESG investing, and gender ideology — even under Republican leadership, due to deep-rooted influence from national bureaucratic organizations.

The State Leadership Initiative (SLI), a group focused on state-level policy reform, argues in its “Shadow Government” report that unelected national associations are embedding progressive ideologies into state bureaucracies across the country, regardless of who voters elect.

“Conservative leaders are fond of declaring victory,” the report reads. “They win elections, pass legislation, and appoint agency heads with great fanfare, yet, on issue after issue, the administrative state trudges forward in open defiance of their mandate: enforcing equity initiatives, embedding climate policy, and advancing bureaucratic priorities wholly alien to the voters who ostensibly elected the government. This disconnect is not incidental. It is structural.”

The report claims that dozens of well-funded national associations — often branded as nonpartisan or professional groups — are responsible for this “shadow governance.” These organizations set policy frameworks, distribute federal funding and provide “best practices” guidance that often aligns with left-wing values.

SLI founder and president Noah Wall said his organization investigated 23 large associations whose progressive agendas all included diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles and gender ideology initiatives.

Some of the “nonpartisan” organizations listed in the report were:

  • National Association of State Treasurers (NAST)
  • National Association of Medicaid Directors (NAMD)
  • National Association of State Boards of Education (NASBE)

The organizations, operating like a “shadow government,” reportedly use their influence to insert their progressive ideology into every agency, from the fish and wildlife group to the treasury department.

SLI announced additional details on X:

In our latest report covered in Fox News we expose the Shadow Government pushing leftist ideology in nearly every agency across every state. It’s cartoonishly evil, so lets take a dive in to the NAMD (National Association of Medicaid Directors).

We found that in 2021 the NAMD published a list of priorities. THE FIRST priority was “Equity work should include a focus on racial and ethnic minorities”. You would think health is for all but it isn’t. Not to your state Medicaid director that reads these briefs…

In 2022 the NAMD released this report on “Behavioral Health Equity”. Where their first policy recommendation was hiring less White people. Again, racial equity over health outcomes seems to be a trend for this association

You would think all of this was happening under a Democrat. Who would be surprised by a leftist hijacking a “bipartisan” institution for their own nefarious gains.

You’d be wrong. In 2022 Allison Taylor, from Republican Indiana, was the President of NAMD’s Board of Directors.

The Department of Transportation is one of the best examples of the Shadow Government infecting the most innocuous agencies. Follow along as we show you how the AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials) brainwashes your government into believing roads are racist.

Earlier this year State Representative Harrison grilled the Texas DOT for listing “promotes diversity, equity and inclusion” in its budget request. So how did we get to a point where a Republican stronghold like Texas had DEI roads? Look no further than the AASHTO.

In 2020 the AASHTO board of directors “unanimously passed a resolution pledging to engage in the vital work of advancing racial justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (Equity Resolution).”

This is an agency about roads…

Then in 2022 the AASHTO encouraged your local DOT to engage in race based contracting. They disguise this unlawful discrimination as “DBE” contracts.

It’s still happening to this day. Even in Red states like Texas, Utah, and Tennessee.

If you ever wonder why your highway is full of potholes and is always under construction, it’s because your DOT is hiring the most “diverse” not the best.

For years we have heard about the DC “Swamp” but what you haven’t heard of is the Shadow Government. Every state agency and department you can think of is secretly being influenced and controlled by leftist agencies!
