SOCIALISM RISING: Yet another Dem-led city one step closer to electing Mamdani-style candidate as mayor

From Fox News: Longtime progressive activist Katie Wilson will face off against incumbent Mayor Bruce Harrell in November’s general election after securing the top two places in Tuesday’s nonpartisan mayoral primary.

Wilson secured around 46% of the vote to Harrell’s 45%, according to reporting from FOX 13.

“Tonight, we got results that were even better than we hoped, and it’s likely to only get better,” Wilson wrote on X. “Seattle, you showed up! It’s clear that voters want change. This is your city. Join the campaign, and let’s get this done!”

Widely known for her role in helping establish and continuing to lead the left-wing Transit Riders Union, Wilson champions progressive positions such as minimum wage increases, better access to public transit and affordable housing. She has also pledged to “Trump-proof” the City of Seattle, and has been likened to New York City’s Zohran Mamdani by political pundits.

Harrell, who is considered the “establishment” candidate in the race, was first elected mayor of Seattle in 2021.

However, it now appears he may lose his re-election bid to the far-left Wilson.

Two other major cities on the brink of electing muslim socialist mayors. Mamdani, an immigrant from Uganda, is leading the polls for the New York City mayor’s race, and Minnesota state Sen. Omar Fateh, a self-proclaimed democratic socialist and the son of immigrants from Somalia, is leading in the race to be mayor of Minneapolis.

Jason Rantz, a conservative radio host in Seattle, warned, “While national media obsesses over Mamdani in New York, they’re ignoring a big story: every radical socialist candidate just won their primary in Seattle. We’re not moving forward — we’re barreling straight back to 2020.”

Wilson has vowed to “challenge everything ICE is doing” and hit the Trump administration with lawsuits on every issue.
