From People: Loni Anderson has died, just days before her 80th birthday.
The actress’ longtime publicist, Cheryl J. Kagan, said she died at a Los Angeles hospital following a “prolonged” illness, per the Associated Press.
“We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our dear wife, mother and grandmother,” Anderson’s family said in a statement.
Anderson was best known for her role as Jennifer Marlowe on the CBS sitcom WKRP in Cincinnati, which aired for four seasons on CBS, from 1978 to 1982. She received three Golden Globe nominations and two Emmy nominations for the series.
Anderson embraced her stardom and sex symbol status, but said she was happy to play any role.
In 1983, Anderson starred in the race car comedy Stroker Ace, where she met and fell for costar Burt Reynolds.
The pair married in 1988, but they divorced in 1994.
She went on to marry musician Bob Flick. She is survived by Flick and two children – and adopted son with Reynolds, who died in 2015, and a daughter with her firstt husband, Bruce Hasselberg.
Andersoon is remembered as an amazing actress, a gracious lady, and a beloved friend.
