From the New York Post: A Texas elementary school teacher is accused of forcing a 7-year-old student to spread her legs so he could take a picture up her skirt, according to a report.
Augustine Rodney Rendon, 29, allegedly called the young student over to his desk, where he wedged his leg between her legs, instructed her to separate them and put his phone under her skirt, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by KEN5.
The student then heard the camera on his phone sounding multiple times, the affidavit states.
The young girl told her mother about her teacher’s alleged depraved actions and a police report was filed in March, according to the outlet.
When police executed a search warrant on Rendon’s home and seized his electronic devices, they found 8 photos on his phone from the incident, include 6 photos taken from under the child’s skirt.
The mother was reportedly able to identify her daughter’s shoes and shorts from the photos. The shorts were attached to the girl’s skirt.
The arrest affidavit did not reveal which school the teacher worked at. However, one person responding to a KENS 5 Facebook post about the story wrote in the comments section, “He is a 1st grade teacher at Jubilee in Castroville! He was my baby’s teacher and she said he was weird with the kids!”
KSAT.com confirmed that Rendon was a teacher at Jubilee Lakeview school, and said he has now been fired.
Lorraine De Leon, the regional associate superintendent at Jubilee Lakeview, told KSAT that the school removed Rendon “immediately” when the incident was first brought to its attention. She said Rendon is no longer employed with the school.
According to Bexar County jail records, Rendon is now free after posting a $50,000 bond on July 8.
