From the New York Post: The tech company run by a CEO exposed having an alleged affair with his head-of-HR mistress on a “kiss cam” at a Coldplay concert said Friday that it has launched an investigation into the embarrassing incident, suggesting the intimate relationship was unknown to the firm’s board.
“Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability,” the tech-and-data firm said in a statement.
“The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter and we will have additional details to share very shortly.”
The awkward moment has gone viral on social media, after Astronomer CEO Andy Byron was caught in an embrace with the company’s human resources executive, Kristin Cabot, on the large jumbotron during the concert Wednesday night at Boston’s Gillette Stadium.
When the couple realized they were on video for all the world to see, Cabot quickly covered her face and turned her back to the camera, while Bryon dropped down into his seat to get out of the camera’s view.
Byron is married to Meg Kerrigan, who has reportedly removed Byron’s last name from her Facebook page since the incident went viral.
In the viral video, another woman near the busted couple was seen laughing, and social media users have claimed the woman was Alyssa Stoddard, another Astronomer employee. However, the company has denied that the woman was Stoddard.
“Alyssa Stoddard was not at the event and no other employees were in the video. Andy Byron has not put out any statement, reports saying otherwise are all incorrect,” the statement by Astronomer concludes.
