From Washington Examiner: President Donald Trump on Tuesday appeared willing to consider deporting Elon Musk, the former head of the Department of Government Efficiency, who recently took to social media to torpedo Trump’s “big, beautiful bill.” Tensions have stretched between the two after a month of relative quiet.
“I don’t know. We’ll have to take a look. We might have to put DOGE on Elon,” Trump told reporters Tuesday morning before traveling to the Florida Everglades to visit a migrant detention center. “You know what DOGE is? DOGE is the monster that might have to go back and eat Elon.”
“Wouldn’t that be terrible? He gets a lot of subsidies,” Trump continued.
The conflict between the duo exploded this week when Musk began trashing Trump’s major legislative push, pledging to primary congressmen who supported it and even create a rival party. Trump responded early Tuesday morning, blaming Musk’s new offensive on bitterness over the lack of a “ridiculous” electric vehicle subsidy in the bill.
“But Elon is very upset that the EV mandate is going to be terminated. And you know what? When you look at it … not everybody wants an electric car. I don’t want an electric car,” Trump said Tuesday morning.
In a Treuth Social post early Tuesday morning, Trup wrote:
“Elon Musk knew, long before he so strongly Endorsed me for President, that I was strongly against the EV Mandate.
“It is ridiculous, and was always a major part of my campaign. Electric cars are fine, but not everyone should be forced to own one.”
Trump then suggested that if DOGE looked into Musk’s businesses, the South African native might have to return to his homeland.
“Elon may get more subsidy than any human being in history, by far, and without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa. No more Rocket launches, Satellites, or Electric Car Production, and our Country would save a FORTUNE. Perhaps we should have DOGE take a good, hard, look at this? BIG MONEY TO BE SAVED!!!”
