From Washington Examiner: President Donald Trump dropped the news and the documents of a trade agreement between the United States and the United Kingdom on the sidelines of the Group of Seven summit on Monday.
Speaking alongside British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Trump presented reporters with a new trade deal with the U.K. that he signed, hailing it as “fair for both countries.” The announcement was interrupted by the deal’s documents falling out of Trump’s folder, leading to chuckles from both heads of state.
“Sorry about that,” Trump laughed as Starmer bent over to pick up the papers. “A little windy out here.”
“A very important document,” Starmer added with a laugh.
Trump said the U.K. is “very well protected,” from tariffs.
“You know why? Because I like them,” Trump joked. “That’s why. That’s their ultimate protection.”
