‘Squad’ Democrat congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is being mocked and called a hypocrite after she released a statement on social media condemning the shooting death of two Israeli Embassy staffers in Washington, D.C.
The two staffers were a young couple in love and about to become engaged. Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim were gunned down in a horrific terror attack just after 9:00 p.m. Wednesday night. Lischinsky was a researcher in the political department of the Israeli Embassy, and Milgrim organized U.S. missions to Israel, ABC News has reported.
Lischinsky, 30, was a devout Christian whose father was Jewish and mother was Christian. Milgrim, 26, from Overland Park, Kansas, worked in the embassy’s department of public diplomacy for almost two years, beginning in November 2023, and was Jewish.
The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Elias Rodriguez of Chicago, admitted he shot and killed the couple and defiantly yelled, “Free, free Palestine!” as he was being arrested. He has now been charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
Rodriguez allegedly has past ties to the Party for Socialism and Liberation, a far-left pro-Palestine group. The group released a statement Thursday trying to distance themselves from Rodriguez, and claimed they have had no contact with him in 7 years.
Ocasio-Cortez, a member of the Democrat Socialists of America, posted the following statement about the shooting:
Absolutely nothing justifies the murder of innocents. I am devastated by the killing of two people outside an @AJCGlobal event here in Washington. Our prayers are with the victims, families, and loved ones of all impacted.
As we await more details, we must be clear that hatred has no home here. Antisemitism is a threat to all we hold dear as a society. It must be confronted and rooted out everywhere.

Conservatives are not buying AOC’s efforts to condemn the shooting, as many are pointing out her own support for the pro-Palestine activists.

Others are mocking her for saying she’s waiting on more details.

In another post, Szypula added, “Your blatant antisemitism for years and years has caused this act of evil. Resign AOC. You are the problem. You and antisemites like @IlhanMN and @RashidaTlaib. Shame on you and your Hamas Squad. RESIGN.”
