From the New York Post: The Secret Service is investigating former FBI Director James Comey after he was accused Thursday of calling for violence against President Trump in a since-deleted Instagram post.

Comey, who was fired by Trump early in his first term, had posted an image of seashells arranged in the shape of the numerals “8647.”

The number “86” is commonly used as slang to mean getting rid of something or ejecting someone — especially in restaurant and bar settings when referring to menu items. Trump is the 47th president of the US.

“Cool shell formation on my beach walk,” the FBI chief-turned-crime novelist captioned the post.

Donald Trump Jr. posted a screenshot of the now-deleted post and wrote in fury, “Just James Comey causally calling for my dad to be murdered. This is who the Dem-Media worships. Demented!!!!”

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem announced, “Disgraced former FBI Director James Comey just called for the assassination of @POTUS Trump. DHS and Secret Service is investigating this threat and will respond appropriately.”

FBI Director Kash Patel later confirmed, “We are aware of the recent social media post by former FBI Director James Comey, directed at President Trump. We are in communication with the Secret Service and Director Curran. Primary jurisdiction is with SS on these matters and we, the FBI, will provide all necessary support.”

Comey later deleted the post, and then claimed in a new post that he didn’t realize some people would interpret it as a call for violence.

“I posted earlier a picture of some shells I saw today on a beach walk, which I assumed were a political message. I didn’t realize some folks associate those numbers with violence. It never occurred to me but I oppose violence of any kind so I took the post down,” Comey wrote, trying to walk it back.

Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), blasted Comey in a lengthy statement on X.

“The above-referenced post from Jim Comey hits too close to home—and occurs too soon after two serious, nearly successful assassination attempts have been made on *this* president’s life—to be dismissed as a joke or harmless hyperbole, especially from the former FBI director,” Lee wrote.

“I urge all within the sound of my voice—whether you like our current president or not—to avoid and discourage the use of signaling that some could far too eagerly accept as an invitation for yet another assassination attempt on the life of the president of the United States,” he added.

Meanwhile, National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard says Comey belongs in JAIL:

Podcast host Drew Hernandez responded to Patel, “Arrest him. I am so sick of these people getting away with everything. Posting this while President Trump is currently overseas is wild. This guy knew exactly what he was doing.”

Hernandez then highlighted a post by Democrat Ed Krassenstein, who ALSO posted the numbers 8647, and suggested the FBI should go after him too.

Krassenstein had posted a photo of balls on a pool table lined up with the numbers 8647 and had written, “It’s time!”

Krassenstein tried to justify his post, writing, “For the record, I am 100% against violence in any form. Stop creating bogus meanings to try and investigate your political opponents. 8647 means “remove Trump from office.” If you are creating any other meaning you are the ones who are going to end up inciting the violence.”
