From Fox News: FBI Director Kash Patel issued a fiery warning after the bureau disrupted a mass shooting plot at a military base on behalf of ISIS.

Patel told Fox News Digital that any individual targeting the U.S. military or conspiring with foreign terrorist organizations will be “prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

The director’s warning comes after a former Michigan Army National Guard member, Ammar Abdulmajid-Mohamed Said, 19, was arrested for allegedly planning a mass shooting near the U.S. Army’s Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command (TACOM) center at the Detroit Arsenal in Warren, Michigan.

“Let this be a warning: Anyone who targets our military or conspires with foreign terrorist organizations will be found, stopped and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” Patel told Fox News Digital Thursday. “I commend the men and women of the Joint Terrorism Task Force and our law enforcement partners for their continued dedication to protecting the American people.”

Said, 19, was arrested on Tuesday, which the Justice Department said was the scheduled day of the attack.

In a press release, the Justice Department announced:

According to the complaint, Said informed two undercover law enforcement officers of a plan he had devised and formulated to conduct a mass-shooting at the U.S. Army’s Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command (TACOM) facility at the Detroit Arsenal in Warren, Michigan.

In April 2025, the two undercover officers indicated they intended to carry out Said’s plan at the direction of ISIS. In response, Said provided material assistance to the attack plan, including providing armor-piercing ammunition and magazines for the attack, flying his drone over TACOM to conduct operational reconnaissance, training the undercover employees on firearms and the construction of Molotov cocktails for use during the attack, and planning numerous details of the attack including how to enter TACOM and which building to target.

On May 13 – the scheduled day of the attack – Said was arrested after he traveled to an area near TACOM and launched his drone in support of the attack plan. He will make his initial court appearance today in the Eastern District of Michigan. The U.S. Attorney’s Office will be asking the court to hold Said in pretrial detention because of his danger to the community and the risk that he will flee.

Based on the charges in the complaint, Said faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison for each count if convicted.

In a post on X Thursday morning, Patel wrote:

NEW from your FBI: I can now confirm reports that our FBI teams and partners foiled an attempted ISIS attack on one of our U.S. military bases in Warren, Michigan.

The individual, Ammar Abdulmajid-Mohamed Said, plotted a mass shooting at the U.S. Army’s Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command (TACOM) facility before multiple undercover law enforcement officers obtained information of his plans.

Said was arrested this week and will now face charges of supporting a foreign terrorist organization, among others. Our agents, intelligence teams, and partners acted quickly — and they saved lives. Well done to all on executing the mission.

More from CNN:

Said spent two years in the Michigan Army National Guard until he was discharged in December, according to court documents.

Said “was involuntarily discharged for failing to complete initial entry requirements,” a Michigan National Guard spokesperson told CNN in an email.

This comes after an Army veteran with an ISIS flag in his truck committed a terror attack in New Orleans on New Year’s Day, which killed 14 people.

The Detroit News reported:

A former member of the Michigan Army National Guard was charged Wednesday after prosecutors say he tried to attack a military base in Warren on behalf of the Islamic State.

Undercover FBI video shows Ammar Abdulmajid-Mohamed Said flying a drone over the U.S. Army’s Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command (“TACOM”) military base in Warren in early May 2025, the government alleges.

The FBI says Ammar Abdulmajid-Mohamed Said drew a map of the U.S. Army’s Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command (“TACOM”) facility in Warren while preparing to attack the military base.

Journalist Amy Mek shared the following details:

Ammar Abdulmajid-Mohamed Said, a 19-year-old from Melvindale, Michigan, and a member of the Michigan Army National Guard, was just arrested for plotting a mass Islamic jihad attack on the U.S. Army’s TACOM facility in Warren, Michigan.

His plan? A coordinated Molotov cocktail and firearm assault, NOT just a random act of violence, but a full-scale Islamic terror attack on behalf of ISIS!

🔴 Key Facts the Media Won’t Address:

  • Said, a devout Muslim, openly pledged loyalty (bayah) to ISIS, explicitly declaring that martyrdom was his goal.
  • He joined the military not out of patriotism but to acquire combat skills to use in jihad.
  • He praised ISIS brutality as necessary for enforcing Sharia and viewed ISIS as the purest representation of Islam.
  • Said also used the term “kuffar” to refer to non-believers, stating that killing at least ten kuffar would constitute a successful attack.
  • He planned to display the ISIS flag during the attack, emphasizing its symbolic role in his mission.
  • He wanted to livestream the attack on ISIS media platforms to inspire others, even suggesting the video include references to Gaza and Palestine to portray the attack as resistance.
  • His primary motivation wasn’t personal grievance or mental illness, it was his devout commitment to Islam, jihad and the enforcement of Islamic law.

💥 Media Acknowledges the Plot – But Downplays the ISLAMIC Connection!

Yes, the media is reporting on the plot, but they’re carefully omitting the most critical element: Said’s devotion to Islam and how it directly fueled his desire for jihad. Why is the media skirting around the fact that this was a religiously motivated attack? Because they’re terrified of admitting that a devout Muslim soldier, driven by unwavering Islamic belief, infiltrated the U.S. military to wage jihad on behalf of ISIS!

🚨 What the Media Is NOT Asking:

  • Where did Said worship? What mosque did he attend?
  • Who radicalized him? Was he influenced by local Islamic leaders or teachings?
  • Have police investigated his religious mentors? What role did religious education play in shaping his ideology?
  • Why hasn’t any local media investigated the mosque connection? Are they intentionally avoiding it because it might expose uncomfortable truths?

📢 Time to Demand Answers!

Why is it acceptable to investigate radicalization when it involves other ideologies but taboo when it comes to Islam? It’s time for real journalism and accountability… Read the full story: https://rairfoundation.com/terror-within-michigan-national-guardsman-ammar-abdulmajid-mohamed/
