From the New York Post: President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky managed to get front-row seats to Pope Francis’ funeral in an apparent departure from the Vatican’s arcane traditions.

Despite speculation that the leaders would be at least three rows back, behind high-ranking clergy members and royals, Trump and First Lady Melania were prominently seated between Estonian president Alar Karis and the King Felipe of Spain.

Unlike past papal funerals, all of the cardinals and bishops in attendance were on one side of the pulpit while the world leaders were on the other, with priority given to heads of state and reigning monarchs.

Heads of government, however, like UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, were further back.

The leaders were generally organized alphabetically by their countries’ names in French — the original language of diplomacy in Europe — which landed the Trumps, from the États-Unis, in the front row.

The report seems uncertain of the reason for Zelensky’s prominent position, which was 11 seats away from Trump.

Other high-ranking dignitaries seated in the front were Argentinian President Javier Milei, who was given the number one spot as leader of Francis’ home country, and Italian president Sergio Mattarella and his daughter, also given priority due to the pope’s role in Italy, the New York Post explains.

While there, President Trump and the First Lady were seen greeting Cardinal Timothy Dolan from New York City.

Bizarrely, liberals criticized President Trump for wearing a blue suit to the funeral…. despite that many other world leaders did the same. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy did not wear a suit at all.

Newsweek also criticized Trump for wearing a blue suit, and claimed the dress code called for men to wear a dark suit, along with a long black tie.

If that’s true, a large percentage of men didn’t get the memo, as many of them wore blue suits and blue ties. A few blue shirts were also seen.

In response to one critic, another X user pointed out that Prince William also wore a blue suit.

Joe Biden also wore a blue tie, but liberals are silent about that.

The Bidens were seated about 4 or 5 rows directly behind Trump.
