President Donald Trump, who will turn 79 in June, has been declared in “excellent health” and “fully fit for duty” following his recent physical examination at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
The assessment, conducted by White House physician Dr. Sean Barbabella, highlighted Trump’s active lifestyle, including participation in meetings, public events, and frequent golf victories. Trump’s physical statistics include a height of 6 feet 3 inches and a weight of 224 pounds, placing him in the overweight category but below the obesity threshold. His resting heart rate was recorded at 62 beats per minute, and his blood pressure was measured at 128/74 mmHg, both within healthy ranges.
Significantly, Trump scored a perfect 30 out of 30 on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), indicating no apparent cognitive impairment. He also displayed no signs of depression or anxiety, with scores in the normal range on standardized screenings. The medical report noted minor health issues such as sun damage to the skin, a benign colon polyp discovered during a July 2024 colonoscopy, and scarring on his right ear from a previous gunshot wound sustained during an assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania. Trump’s high cholesterol is well-controlled through the use of rosuvastatin and ezetimibe, and he also takes aspirin and uses a topical cream for rosacea.
This comprehensive health update aims to address concerns regarding Trump’s age and fitness as he continues his presidential duties. Trump expressed satisfaction with his health status, stating, “Overall, I felt I was in very good shape,” and emphasized his cognitive performance by noting, “I got every answer right” on the cognitive test.
