From Fox News: A crew of “highly sophisticated” Colombian nationals has been arrested in Aurora, Colorado, after allegedly targeting and burglarizing nearly two dozen homes, authorities revealed.
The Auroroa Police Department announced in a release that authorities arrested five suspects Thursday, March 27, during searches of two homes. Police said multiple agencies recovered hundreds of pieces of stolen property, including cash, jewelry, and high-priced clothing and accessories.
Police said the suspects operated a “sophisticated” burglary ring and used counter-surveillance measures to target their victims, using signal jamming technology to bypass residential alarm systems.
The gang of illegal aliens have reportedly burglarized at least 21 homes in Auroroa.
The Aurora Police Department did not acknowledge or mention that the five arrested suspects are illegal aliens, but only said they are in “federal custody,” which means they are in custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

On Thursday, several Aurora police units, the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office served two search warrants and four arrest warrants at two residences in the 1400 block of Fairplay Street and the 1400 block of Altura Boulevard in central Aurora. Among the suspects arrested Thursday are Yesid Alexander Espinosa-Castro, 27, Freddy Giovanni Castro Garzon, 44, Yineth Karina Medina Acevedo, 29, and Joseph Michud Cruz Marquez, 27. A fifth suspect, Jhoan Sebastian Vanegas-Garcia, 26, was arrested by local and federal partners in Ohio.
All five suspects are Colombian nationals who are currently in federal custody. They were wanted on charges of attempted second-degree burglary or conspiracy to commit second-degree burglary, both felonies. Formal charges will be filed by the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
The investigation to date has revealed the suspects engaged in counter surveillance measures to target their victims and used signal jamming technology to bypass residential alarm systems. During Thursday’s operation, investigators recovered hundreds of pieces of stolen property, including cash, jewelry, and high-priced clothing and accessories. Investigators also seized stolen weapons, including handguns and rifles, and tracking devices and Wi-Fi signal jammers.
