From the Washington Free Beacon: Iran says it has readied “a significant number” of advanced missiles capable of striking American bases and military outposts in the Middle East, drawing a sharp warning from the Trump administration.
Iran’s “armed forces have readied missiles with the capability to strike U.S.-related positions,” the Tehran Times, a state-controlled newspaper, reported on Monday. “A significant number of these launch-ready missiles are located in underground facilities scattered across the country, designed to withstand airstrikes.”
The announcement came in response to President Donald Trump’s threat over the weekend to bomb the country if it does not enter into negotiations over its contested nuclear weapons program. But Trump is not backing down—the White House, in response to Tehran’s war preparations, told the Washington Free Beacon it does “not take kindly to military threats.”
“President Trump and his administration do not take kindly to military threats,” said White House National Security Council communications director James Hewitt. “The President has made clear he prefers direct diplomatic channels with Tehran, or they will face serious consequences if they do not end their work to obtain nuclear weapons.”

Trump said while aboard Air Force One on Sunday that he’ll impose secondary tariffs on Iran if they don’t make progress on a deal to end their nuclear program: “I would prefer a deal to the other alternative, which I think everybody on this plane knows what that is. That’s not going to be pretty.”

Meanwhile, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, has been blasting out posts on social media. In some posts, he appears to be calling to “eliminate” Israel.
“The Zionist criminal gang must be totally eliminated from Palestine,” he wrote.
In another post, he added, “It’s everyone’s religious, moral, human duty to strive to eliminate the vicious Zionist criminal gang from the region.”
“The US and the Zionist regime threaten to commit vicious acts. Of course, if such vicious acts are committed, they will definitely receive a strong, reciprocal blow,” Khamenei threatened.
“If the US and the Zionist regime are thinking of stirring up a sedition inside Iran, as they’ve done in some previous years, the Iranian nation itself will answer them,” he continued.
