From Fox News: A government accountability nonprofit is calling on the House to launch a probe into whether Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., misappropriated her taxpayer-funded member allowance.
Americans for Public Trust, a nonprofit and nonpartisan organization, sent a letter to the Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE) on Tuesday, questioning “several troubling expenses” from AOC’s disbursements, which they claim are “in contravention of federal law and the standards of the House of Representatives.”
Each member of Congess receives a Member Representational Allowance (“MRA”), a budget for official duties that “may not be used for personal or campaign purposes,” according to the Congressional Research Service. However, the “Squad” member is being accused of using these funds for “campaign purposes.”
AOC reportedly made a payment of $3,700 to a “Juan D Gonzalez” and another for $850 to “Bombazo Dance Co Inc.,” with both expenditures described as being used for “training.”

Prominent X user Paul Szypula exposed the list of expenditures in a series of posts on X over the weekend:
.@AOC got dance lessons on 12/13/2024 from Bombazo Dance Co Inc and made the US taxpayer cover the $850 bill for that “training.” On the same day there was $3,700 paid to Juan D Gonzalez for more “training.”
Earlier, on 9/18/24, AOC spent $3,384.74 for food at Taco Bamba Shirlington.
AOC pretends to be for the working American, but what she’s really doing is wasting tax dollars so she can dance and throw parties.
Szypula added:
For anyone confused as to what this filing is, because AOC or her stooges are gaslighting, it’s a list of all the expenses that members of Congress made using their “MEMBERS REPRESENTATIONAL ALLOWANCE.”
In 2024, AOC had an allowance of almost $2M. She spent about $1.8M. The vast majority went to her staff of 19 regular employees and 3 interns. At least one of the regular staff AOC admitted entered the US illegally.
That’s Naureen Akhter, her Deputy Chief of Staff who AOC paid $145,999.96 a year from the taxpayer in 2024.
@ICEgov needs to do a full investigation into everyone AOC has employed as a member of Congress. There are likely many other illegals she’s been paying using federal dollars. AOC has also been exposed employing illegals as part of her campaign staff.
So, while it’s offensive that she’s wasted thousands of our tax dollars on dance and drums lessons, it’s far worse that she’s likely spent millions of our tax dollars employing illegals to work in the US Government. Investigate, prosecute, and jail AOC.

Bottom line, AOC employs illegals and makes American workers pay.
Ocasio-Cortez fired back, claiming, “100% wrong. None of this is taxpayer money, this is an FEC filing. Be loud and wrong about something else. Try again next time.”
But Szypula continued to roll out the receipts, and wrote, “To put a bow on this, AOC is gaslighting like usual. This is a “MEMBERS REPRESENTATIONAL ALLOWANCE,” as it clearly says at the top left of the page. Show us anything proving this wasn’t taxpayer money.”

“Screenshots from the ‘Members’ Representational Allowance: History and Usage.’ It’s basically an allowance given to representatives to spend on their staff and other expenses. AOC was allotted almost $2 million for 2024. She spent a lot of it on illegals she had on her staff,” Szypula added.

Tuesday afternoon, Szypula announced:
.@AOC has now been hit with an ethics complaint related to her wasting our tax dollars on dance and drum lessons.
AOC also has people on her congressional payroll who illegally entered the US. That needs to be investigated too. Additionally, AOC has illegals on her campaign staff. Very un-American.
Sandy Cortez isn’t the only Democrat wrongly using our tax dollars. Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) is making us pay her $1K/month car lease even though she has 3 luxury cars.
