Former President Trump said he is considering imposing strict banking sanctions and tariffs on Russia in response to its intensified attacks on Ukraine.
He emphasized that, given Russia is “pounding” Ukraine on the battlefield, he may take these measures until a ceasefire and final peace agreement are reached. Trump urged Russian leaders to come to the negotiating table with Ukrainian leaders.
This comes after a stalemate between U.S. and Ukraine negotiations after President Zelenskyy argued with Trump at the White House last week. Zelenskyy has since somewhat apologized and is willing to try and work a peace deal.
