Singer Dolly Parton, 79, paid an emotional tribute to her late husband in a new song just released Friday morning.

Parton’s husband, Carl Dean, passed away on Monday at the age of 82. They had been married nearly 60 years.

Parton met Dean in 1964, when she was 18 years old, at a laundromat on the first day she moved to Nashville. The couple were married on May 30, 1966. However, despite being married to the famous singer, Dean never wanted any part of the spotlight, and stayed in the background, working on their Nashville ranch and focusing on real estate deals.

In a social media post Friday morning, Parton wrote, “I fell in love with Carl Dean when I was 18 years old. We have spent 60 precious and meaningful years together. Like all great love stories, they never end. They live on in memory and song. He will always be the star of my life story, and I dedicate this song to him.”

Audio of the newly-released song was posted on Parton’s YouTube channel.

Lyrics include: “If you hadn’t been there… Where would I be? Without your trust… Love and belief. The up’s and down’s… We’ve always shared… And I wouldn’t be here… If you hadn’t been there.”
