From Breitbart: A prominent Ukrainian lawmaker declared it was “absolute idiocy” for President Volodymyr Zelensky to openly argue with U.S. President Donald Trump in front of the world during their Oval Office meeting on Friday.

Oleksiy Goncharenko, a member of the Verkhovna Rada parliament in Kyiv, lamented that Ukraine’s relationship with President Trump came to an “end” on Friday after a heated White House meeting in which President Zelensky was accused of being “disrespectful” to the U.S. leader and the American people.

Goncharenko wrote on Facebook that it was “absolute idiocy to start ARGUING with the President of the United States in front of the cameras,” adding that “it can be done and probably should be done, but not in front of cameras.”

The Ukrainian MP, who sits with the European Solidarity bloc of former Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko in the parliament, went on to warn that Zelensky’s behaviour on Friday could have “very bad consequences” for Ukraine.

“This is just horrible. Basically, we just saw the end of our relationship with Trump,” Goncharenko warned, adding, “What just happened – it can have VERY BAD CONSEQUENCES.”

“It’s not a game, we have millions of people dying and fighting. Not to NEGOTIATE with the main ally LIKE THIS,” he wrote.

“We have to fight for every Ukrainian, not to the last Ukrainian,” he warned in another Facebook post.

Writing on X,Goncharenko  said, “We respect President Trump and Vice President Vance, we are grateful that the US has provided us with assistance. Ukraine is millions of people, these are soldiers who are fighting for Ukraine and are grateful for the assistance of the US. Ukraine is not one person, it is millions of people. Without the US, we could not stand.”

In a CNN interview, the host accused President Trump and VP JD Vance of “berating and humiliating” Zelenskyy. However, Goncharenko pushed back, casting the blame entirely on Zelenskyy, saying he should have been more diplomatic and not argued with Trump, because America is the only country who can provide the type of support that Ukraine needs to get the war ended.

Goncharenko called the Oval Office incident a “catastrophe.”

In an interview with GB News, Goncharenko also said Volodymyr Zelenskyy “should have behaved himself in another way.”
