REPORT: Likely German Chancellor rejects Trump, makes ‘election-interference’ allegations, turns on U.S.A.

Despite a new leader being elected in Germany on Sunday, it appears nothing is really going to change.

From Breitbart: Following his party’s victory in federal elections on Sunday, Friedrich Merz, the likely next Chancellor of Germany, rejected overtures from President Donald Trump while calling for “independence” from the United States and accusing Washington of election interference.

On Sunday, German voters firmly rejected the former leftist governing coalition of Social Democrats and Greens in favour of the supposedly conservative Christian Democrats and the populist-right Alternative for Germany (AfD).

President Trump had warmly congratulated Merz on his victory in a Truth Social post Sunday night. He wrote:

LOOKS LIKE THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY IN GERMANY HAS WON THE VERY BIG AND HIGHLY ANTICIPATED ELECTION. MUCH LIKE THE USA, THE PEOPLE OF GERMANY GOT TIRED OF THE NO COMMON SENSE AGENDA, ESPECIALLY ON ENERGY AND IMMIGRATION, THAT HAS PREVAILED FOR SO MANY YEARS.

THIS IS A GREAT DAY FOR GERMANY, AND FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF A GENTLEMAN NAMED DONALD J. TRUMP. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL — MANY MORE VICTORIES TO FOLLOW!!!

However, Merz doesn’t appear to welcome any friendship with Trump. Or with the far-right AfD party, who came in second in the election.

In a sneering statement, Merz said:

“I am communicating closely with a lot of prime ministers and heads of EU states, and for me, it is an absolute priority to strengthen Europe as quickly as possible so that we achieve independence from the U.S., step by step.

“I never thought that I would ever need to say something like that, on television, but after the latest statements made by Donald Trump last week, it is clear, that the Americans — at any case these Americans, this administration — mostly don’t care about the fate of Europe one way or another.”

Merz wildly accused the U.S. of election interference, and claimed that “interventions from Washington were no less drastic, dramatic, and ultimately no less brazen, than the intervention that we have seen from Moscow.”

Indicating he intends to continue Germany’s draconian crackdown on free speech, Merz reportedly declared, “Freedom of speech remains freedom of speech, but fake news, hate speech, and crimes are subject to legal restrictions and independent courts.”

It appears nothing will change about Germany’s open borders.  Merz declared during a press conference on Monday, “I want to say it very clearly again. None of us will talk about border closures, no one, although this was claimed at times during the election campaign, none of us want to close the borders.”

Many leaders are congratulating Alice Weidel, leader of the more conservative AfD party, on climbing to second place in the election.  The AfD Party, called “far-right,” has called for all illegal aliens to be deported from Germany.

Hungarian Prime Minister Orban Viktor wrote, “The people of Germany voted for change in immense numbers. I want to congratulate @Alice_Weidel on doubling @AfD’s share of the votes. Good luck and God bless Germany!”

Elon Musk added, “Indeed, congratulations @Alice_Weidel! At this rate of growth, @AfD will be the majority party by the next election.”

Prominent X user and commentator “Bernie” shared the following details about the newly-elected German chancellor:
