From Fox News: FBI Director Kash Patel will be tapped to run the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), two sources confirmed to Fox News Digital Saturday.

The news comes a day after Patel was sworn in as the ninth FBI director in a narrow Senate vote.

Former FBI Director Christopher Wray resigned at the end of former President Joe Biden’s term, and Attorney General Pam Bondi fired the ATF general counsel, Pamela Hicks, Thursday.

Hicks had served as ATF’s chief counsel since 2021 during the Biden administration and served as deputy chief counsel for ATF during President Donald Trump’s first administration. She spent 23 years overall as an attorney within the Department of Justice (DOJ), she posted to LinkedIn.

Bondi announced Friday, “Yesterday I fired the general counsel from ATF. These people were targeting gun owners. Not going to happen under this administration.”

The Firearms Policy Coalition cheered, “ICYMI: Pamela Hicks, ATF’s Chief Counsel, who proudly terrorized peaceable gun owners for the Biden Administration, is GONE!!! Yeah, it’s worth repeating. Fire the rest of them, too.”

Gun Owners of America announced, “ATF’s Chief Counsel Pamela Hicks has been fired and escorted out of the Washington, D.C. headquarters. Hicks oversaw the enforcement of every Biden infringement of the Second Amendment since taking the position in 2021.”

X user @LivePDDave1, an author and citizen journalist, announced:

WASHINGTON, D.C.—In a long-overdue reckoning at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Chief Counsel Pamela Hicks—whose uncanny resemblance to Zac Efron in “The Iron Claw” only highlighted her utter incompetence—was unceremoniously fired today and humiliatingly escorted out of the Washington, D.C. headquarters by security, her personal belongings shoved into a cardboard box.

The Attorney General terminated Hicks’ nearly 28-year career with the Department of Justice, ending her tenure as ATF’s top legal advisor since 2021, due to her relentless enforcement of Biden-era policies that gutted Second Amendment rights—pushing unconstitutional gun control measures, harassing law-abiding citizens, and bloating the agency with overreach. Her removal, marked by a public walk of shame through the ATF’s halls, was a necessary purge of a failed bureaucrat whose ideological zealotry betrayed America’s gun owners.

Now FBI Director Kash Patel will also oversee the ATF.  Patel had warned during an earlier speech at a Gun Owners of America event that the ATF was literally being run to take away gun rights.
