The annual CPAC conference is taking place in the Washington, D.C. area this week, and disturbing reports have surfaced that some former January 6 prisoners were kicked out of the event.
The four-day conservative conference, which lasts from Feb. 19-22, is headed up by Matt and Mercedes Schlapp, and is being held at the Gaylord Hotel and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. Speakers include a number of conservative activists, journalists and political leaders. President Trump is scheduled to deliver a keynote speech at the event on Saturday.
The very first executive order President Trump signed when he returned to the Oval Office after his inauguration on January 20 was a pardon for 1,500 people who had been prosecuted for their participation in the January 6, 2021 protest at the U.S. Capitol. The order required the immediate release of about 200 people who were still being held in prison.
But now, when some of those people attempted to attend the CPAC conference this week, they were told to leave.
Jake Lang posted a video as he was being kicked out of the conference on Wednesday.

Richard Barnett posted a video, announcing he was also denied entry.

Later CPAC reportedly backed down, and allowed Barnett back in on Thursday. He describes what happened below:

That didn’t last long, as Thursday afternoon, it appears they were kicked out AGAIN.
Barnett announced, “Ok they are escorting @JakeLangJ6 @CowboyCouy and other J6ers again! They just came back because we were told it was worked out! They attempted to throw me out also. This is worst treatment than we get from the left!!! #J6.”

Couy Griffin, founder of Cowboys for Trump, clarified on Friday, “I wasn’t removed Glenn but I did walk out with Jake Lang who was asked to leave. It’s too bad it went down the way it did. I hate Jake had to go thru it.”

Alex Stone, nephew of Roger Stone, said he personally heard Matt Schlapp bragging that he got the January 6 people kicked out, claiming it was “bad for optics.”

CPAC posted a statement on X, denying that January 6 people were being kicked out. They wrote, “It is untrue that we are not allowing people to come to CPAC because of their involvement with J6. In fact, CPAC has been a constant supporter of this persecuted community and we support wholeheartedly President Trump’s pardons of the J6 victims. The registration link is active and tickets will be sold out very soon.”
Lang fired right back, writing:
