According to a statement by Jet Rescue Air Ambulance, the medical air ambulance, a Learjet 55, which crashed in Philadelphia Friday night was carrying a pediatric patient.
Police had reported that two pilots, two doctors, one patient, and a family member were on board the plane. All are reported dead.
The plane had just departed from the Philadelphia Airport, and was en-route to the Branson-Springfield National Airport in Missouri. It reportedly struck a group of row houses and multiple vehicles when it crashed.
According to multiple reports, the child was a young girl who had just finished “life-saving treatments” at Shriners Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia and was going back home with her mother. The crew, mother and child were all Mexican nationals, and the girl had been coming to Philadelphia for treatment. They were reportedly flying to Springfield-Branson airport to re-fuel, and then planned to fly back home to Tijuana, Mexico.

In addition to the plane being loaded with fuel, Fox News reported that a gas line was also struck on the ground, which added to the inferno.
Questions are being raised about whether oxygen tanks on board the plane could have exploded during takeoff, resulting in an emergency on board that caused the crash. The exact cause of the crash is still unknown, but speculations are swirling about the reasons for the missile-like descent of the plane.
Jet Rescue Air Ambulance released the following statement:

Fox News reporter Alexis McAdams shared the following:
NEW: Just talked to a senior fire official in the Philadelphia area who tells me the fires are “now under control.” But – when the plane went down – it sprayed jet fuel all over the place. The jet fuel soaking some of the nearby row homes – which then went up in flames. Source says at least two row homes were evacuated.
Official tells me – 6 houses were on fire – 6 cars were on fire.
There are pieces of the jet everywhere I am told by witnesses who are near the scene. I am also hearing about debris that is all over the place.
Fire official tells me there was a gas line that was ruptured when the plane went down too.
