While far-left Democrats have been kicking and screaming over many of President Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees, claiming they aren’t qualified for the position, videos are resurfacing on social media of one person Joe Biden nominated, who nearly got approved.

Democrats and liberal media have reacted in outrage after President Trump called out the Biden administration’s DEI hiring policies in the FAA, following the deadly mid-air crash at the Reagan National Airport that killed 67 people.

Let’s take a look at the individual Joe Biden originally nominated to lead the Federal Aviation Administration: Phil Washington, the CEO of Denver International Airport.

During his confirmation hearings, Washington could not even answer many basic questions about aviation safety. Then-Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) had heavily pushed for Washington to be confirmed, declaring, “It’s time to clear the runway for President Biden’s choice for FAA Administrator, Phil Washington.”

Washington finally withdrew his name from consideration after Republicans emphatically rejected him and his disastrous responses from his confirmation hearing went viral.

Also during the Biden administration, the FAA announced a major diversity push to focus on hiring people with ‘severe intellectual’ and ‘psychiatric’ disabilities.

Fox News reported on January 14, 2024:

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is actively recruiting workers who suffer “severe intellectual” disabilities, psychiatric problems and other mental and physical conditions under a diversity and inclusion hiring initiative spelled out on the agency’s website.

“Targeted disabilities are those disabilities that the Federal government, as a matter of policy, has identified for special emphasis in recruitment and hiring,” the FAA’s website states. “They include hearing, vision, missing extremities, partial paralysis, complete paralysis, epilepsy, severe intellectual disability, psychiatric disability and dwarfism.”

The initiative is part of the FAA’s “Diversity and Inclusion” hiring plan, which says “diversity is integral to achieving FAA’s mission of ensuring safe and efficient travel across our nation and beyond.” The FAA’s website shows the agency’s guidelines on diversity hiring were last updated on March 23, 2022.
