President Donald Trump held a press conference in the White House Press Briefing room Thursday morning, to provide updates on the tragic mid-air collision Wednesday night at the Reagan National Airport.

The 64 people aboard American Airlines Flight 5342 from Wichita, and 3 soldiers aboard a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter are all believed to have perished in the crash. Both aircraft fell into the Potomac River.

Trump first held a moment of silence to honor the victims in the crash.

“For the family members back in Wichita, Kansas, here in Washington, D.C. and throughout the United States and in Russia… We have a Russia contingent of very talented people, unfortunately, were on that plane. Very, very, very sorry about that, whose loved ones were aboard the passenger jet, we can only begin to imagine the agony that you’re all feeling. Nothing worse,” Trump said.

“Together, we take solace in the knowledge that their journey ended not in the cold waters of the Potomac, but in the warm embrace of a loving God,” he continued.

“We do not know what led to this crash, but we have some very strong opinions and ideas. We’ll find out how this disaster occurred and we’ll ensure that nothing like this ever happens again,” Trump promised.

However, Trump pointed out that the Biden administration had implemented “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” policies, and eviscerated the FAA. He pointed to a report from Fox News – which he said was January 14, one week before he entered office. However, the report was actually from January 14, 2024 – one year ago. The report reads:

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is actively recruiting workers who suffer “severe intellectual” disabilities, psychiatric problems and other mental and physical conditions under a diversity and inclusion hiring initiative spelled out on the agency’s website.

“Targeted disabilities are those disabilities that the Federal government, as a matter of policy, has identified for special emphasis in recruitment and hiring,” the FAA’s website states. “They include hearing, vision, missing extremities, partial paralysis, complete paralysis, epilepsy, severe intellectual disability, psychiatric disability and dwarfism.”

Liberal media is now reacting in outrage over Trump blaming DEI policies, noting that it has not yet been determined who was at fault.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Vice President JD Vance also all spoke at the White House Press Briefing.
