From the Daily MailA notorious MS-13 gang leader who admitted to involvement in at least seven murders received a sweetheart plea deal thanks to Biden’s Department of Justice.

Jairo Saenz, 28, will avoid the death penalty and life in prison as he will receive a sentence of 40 to 60 years on charges including murder, attempted murder and arson.

He was known for ruthlessly running the Long Island branch of MS-13 alongside his brother Alexi, who previously pleaded guilty to similarly violent charges in a plea deal that is expected to result in a 70-year sentence, reports Fox News.

Their branch of the infamous MS-13 gang, an organized crime racket that originated in Los Angeles in the 1980s, was known as the Sailors, according to authorities.

In their time running the gang in Suffolk County, their branch was linked to several violent cases including the murder of two Brentwood High School girls with a machete and a baseball bat in September 2016.

The two girls, Kayla Cuevas, 16, and Nisa Mickens, 15, were attacked by the MS-13 gang while they were walking down the street, and horrifically slaughtered. One of the girls had reportedly criticized the “Sailors” in a Facebook post.

The report notes that, after their arrests, “the Saenz brothers sparked outrage by joking and laughing in court while the girls’ families watched on, and once in jail, Saenz is said to have taken part in violent attacks on other inmates and assaulted corrections officers.”

A press release posted by the Justice Department this week provides details on 7 murders which Jairo Saenz has confessed to, along with three attempted murders, and more.

  • January 28, 2016 murder of Michael Johnson;
  • April 29, 2016 murder of Oscar Acosta;
  • September 13, 2016 murders of Kayla Cuevas and Nisa Mickens;
  • October 10, 2016 murder of Javier Castillo;
  • October 13, 2016 murder of Dewann Stacks;
  • January 30, 2017 murder of Esteban Alvarado-Bonilla.

Saenz also pleaded guilty to his participation in three attempted murders, arson, narcotics trafficking, firearms offenses and a conspiracy to kill Marcus Bohannon, who was murdered on September 5, 2016 by other members of the MS-13.

“Today’s guilty plea proceeding was held before United States District Judge Gary R. Brown.  When sentenced, Jairo Saenz faces up to 60 years in prison, and a minimum sentence of 40 years in prison under the terms of his plea agreement,” the DOJ wrote, announcing the stunning light sentence agreement.
