From Fox News: A Georgia state senator and hardline supporter of President-elect Trump appeared to be pushed to the floor before being arrested while trying to enter the state House chamber on Thursday.

State Sen. Colton Moore, who previously tried to have Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis impeached for indicting Trump, tried to enter the House floor to attend Gov. Brian Kemp’s State of the State Address — but was ultimately led away in handcuffs.

Moore is currently banned from entering the chamber after he blasted the state Senate’s decision last year to consider a resolution to name a building at the University of North Georgia after the now-deceased former speaker David Ralston.

“This body is about to memorialize, in my opinion, one of the most corrupt Georgia leaders that we are ever going to see in my lifetime,” Moore exclaimed at the time.

On Wednesday, Moore wrote to current House Speaker Jon Burns outlining why he thought the ban was unconstitutional and said he intended to be at today’s joint session.

Sharing a copy of a letter, Moore announced on Wednesday, “Speaker @JonBurnsGA is attempting to ARREST and BLOCK me from representing the 53rd District at tomorrow’s State of the State joint session. I will NEVER back down. I will ALWAYS speak the truth and represent the people of Northwest Georgia as their trusted America First Senator. I will be there tomorrow as obligated under Georgia law. See my response to the TYRANT below:”

However, when Moore attempted to enter the chamber on Thursday to attend Governor Kemp’s speech, he was held back, and ultimately pushed to the floor.

“This is a joint session of the General Assembly. Your House rules do not apply,” Moore said. “I’m going into the chamber.”

But he was not allowed to enter, and was hauled off to jail instead.

Moore’s team posted a video on social media and announced, “Senator Colton Moore, who exposed and defeated corrupt District Attorney Fani Willis last year, has been arrested by the Anti-Trump Speaker of the Georgia House. Colton is being held in the same Atlanta jail as President Trump. We are working to ensure his expedient release. Please pray for all those standing up for freedom and peace for all Georgians.” – Team Moore.”

Longtime Trump adviser Bruce LeVell was one of many who posted a video of the incident. LeVell wrote:

Colton Moore, a loyal, hardworking, pro-Trump Georgia State Senator, was handcuffed and arrested by the House Speaker after attempting to attend the State of the State session to fulfill his duties.

Previously suspended from the GOP caucus for helping lead the charge to end the corruption of Fani Willis, Moore tried to enter the chamber but was physically blocked from doing so. Law enforcement and guards were stationed outside the door, and when he attempted to proceed, he was wrestled to the ground.

@realColtonMoore deserves to be there to fight for his constituents!

Townhall columnist Dustin Grage posted a video of the arrest and wrote, “Senator @realColtonMoore, who serves as the Vice-Chair of the @FreedomCaucusGA was just unconstitutionality arrested by Speaker @JonBurnsGA for simply trying to attend the State of the State joint session. This is what tyranny looks like, folks.”

The Georgia Gun Owners organization declared, “GGO members will cover 100% of Colton Moore’s bail money. This is war!”

Thursday evening, Moore posted a video from a hospital, and said he will be back to work on Friday.

He said he was waiting to get an x-ray of his left hand, as it is swollen and purple.

Now he has a mugshot to match Trump’s.

Georgia state House Speaker Jon Burns, a Republican, posted the following defiant statement, defending the rule to ban Moore from entering:

“The situation outside of the House Chamber this morning was incredibly unfortunate. The Senator refused to cooperate with doorkeepers and law enforcement, and created a dangerous situation when he chose to use force against our law enforcement officers, dedicated doorkeepers and House staff. I want to thank every House staff member and our entire House family for holding the line to honor Speaker Ralston’s legacy of dedicated service to our state. As you saw today, the integrity and decorum of this House are non-negotiable – period.”

U.S. Rep. Clay Higgins (R-La.) had something to say about the shocking incident.

“Georgia State Senator Colton Moore, a Freedom Caucus Republican, was denied entry to the Georgia State Assembly today, based on some political establishment BS,” Higgins wrote.

“If you establishment boys in Georgia want a fight with HFC, we’ll be happy to oblige. Get your mind right. Conflict with the Freedom Caucus is not a casual affair,” he warned.
