President-elect Donald Trump’s official 2025 inauguration portrait was released Wednesday evening, and is creating a buzz on social media.

The photo is prompting comparisons to the Georgia mugshot taken of Trump on August 24, 2023, when Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis charged him with attempting to “overturn” the 2020 election.

Justifiably so, Trump appeared furious in his Georgia mugshot. He went on to win the 2024 presidential election in a massive landslide, winning both the electoral college and the popular vote, and winning back every single “swing state” that had gone to Biden in 2020.

Trump had posted the mugshot to his Twitter account on the day it was taken. It was his first return to the platform since he had been kicked off in January 2021. Along with the mugshot, the photo was captioned, “Election Interference! Never Surrender!”

In the new inauguration portrait, Trump has a serious expression on his face that loudly implies, “I’m BACK,” and portrays an image of power and authority.

The new photo is also a fulfilled prophecy by Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr, who also posted the Georgia mugshot on Aug. 24, 2023 and promised, “Hey Deep State – He’s coming for you. See you on January 20th, 2025.”

Sure enough, Trump will be inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States on January 20, 2025.

Trump’s photographer Daniel Torok posted a video showing Trump’s inauguration program and the photos of both Trump and VP-elect JD Vance.

Social media is buzzing, as everyone is noticing the similar photos of Trump’s new profile and the 2023 mugshot.

The new portrait is also being compared to the more smiling portrait in January 2017.

In a Fox News broadcast, former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said Trump’s 2017 portrait said “I’m ready,” whereas the 2025 portrait says, “I know what I’m up against.”

Vice President-elect JD Vance’s inaugural photo has also been released:
