From Fox News: California authorities announced on Sunday that at least 24 people have died as a result of the recent wildfires.
The previous figure was 16. According to the County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner’s (DME) website, many of the decedents are John or Jane Does.
“The DME cannot confirm human remains until after the DME processes them at our facility,” the agency noted.
