The Biden administration is on their way out the door, the Trump administration is returning to the Oval Office in 10 days, and Mark Zuckerberg is now spilling the beans on how he said his company was pressured to censor conservatives over the past four years.

From Fox News: Meta Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg told podcaster Joe Rogan that members of President Biden’s administration yelled at his employees, demanding they take down content on their behalf.

Meta recently announced that it would be ending its controversial fact-checking practices and lifting restrictions on speech to “restore free expression” across Facebook, Instagram and Meta platforms, admitting its current content moderation practices have “gone too far.” Zuckerberg spoke about the platform’s struggles to maintain freedom of expression while fending off pressure from the Biden administration amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“During the Biden administration, when they were trying to roll out the vaccine program,” the social media CEO said, “while they were trying to push that program they also tried to censor anyone who is basically arguing against it. And they pushed us super hard to take down things that were honestly, were true. They basically pushed us and said, you know, that ‘anything saying that says vaccines might have side effects, you basically need to take down.’ And I was just like ‘We’re not going to do that, we’re clearly not going to do that, I mean that is kind of inarguably true.”

“I mean basically these people from the Biden administration would call up our team and like scream at them and curse and it’s like… these documents are… it’s all kind of out there,” Zuckerberg said.

Rogan asked Zuckerberg if his company recorded those phone calls? Zuckerberg said no, but added, “There are emails!”

Zuckerberg claimed he pushed back against the Biden administration’s demands, saying, “No, we’re not going to we’re not going to take down things that are true. That’s ridiculous.”

He noted that Biden then made a statement and claimed, “These guys are killing people.”

“Then all these agencies and branches of government started coming after our company… it was brutal,” Zuckerberg said.

“What Elon did on the Twitter files when he took over that company, I think
[Rep] Jim Jordan basically did that for the rest of the industry with the congressional investigation he did,” Zuckerberg also said.

Zuckerberg also admitted that what X has done with the Community Notes program is much better than the third-party ‘fact checkers’ his company had used.

In response to the video about the Biden administration pressuring Facebook, Eric Daugherty of Florida Voice News, asked, “I’d love to know why he didn’t go public with this in the moment.”

Journalist Collin Rugg replied:

I will give you the answer: Mark Zuckerberg is the CEO of a company with a market cap of $1.5T. To him, his number one job is to make shareholders happy and make his company successful.

From observing him over the years, I can tell you that Zuckerberg is a magician when it comes to navigating “the storm” and “going along to get along.”

He moves with the wind and is trying to be in the good graces of whoever is in charge to avoid regulation and anything that would hurt META. You can call that “immoral,” “not courageous,” or “not righteous,” and that’s totally fair but that’s just how it is.

He’s in a niche that is always under attack from the federal government, and he’s just navigating the waters. That’s why having people like Trump and Musk is so important. Courage is contagious and it creates generational change, which we are seeing now.

Daugherty also re-posted a video of a Zoom call in which California Gov. Gavin Newsom was pressuring the Biden administration to do something to stop the ‘misinformation.’

“The timing of Gavin Newsom begging Biden to “deal with” “misinformation” surrounding criticism of him for the California fires is so impeccable, as Mark Zuckerberg just revealed how the Biden admin ran a censorship campaign on Meta. Newsom was in on it,” Daugherty wrote.
