Podcast host Tucker Carlson released an interview with radio host Billy Bush on Monday.
Bush, who was a part of the Access Hollywood television program from 2004 to 2016, was at the center what became known as the “Access Hollywood tapes” scandal, when a recording surfaced of a 2005 conversation he had with Donald Trump. Both were reportedly unaware a hot mic picked up the conversation.
Just one month ahead of the 2016 presidential election, on October 7, 2016 the Washington Post released a recording of the conversation, a clear attempt to derail Trump’s presidential campaign.
Bush was then fired by NBC News when the tape was released. He told Carlson that NBC leaked the tape to the Washington Post in 2016.
