From Breitbart: A San Francisco woman who wanted to “defund the police” is complaining online after thieves stole “everything” she owned from a U-Haul truck last week — and being mocked by social media users pointing out the irony.

“Hey guys. If you see a 26 foot uhaul truck with the Arizona plate AL50003- would you let me know because it had like everything I own on it,” Darcie Bell, who goes by @neo_antiquarian on X, wrote Saturday:

She then called on San Francisco Board of Supervisors — President Aaron Peskin (D), Supervisor Rafael Mandelman (D), and Mayor London Breed (D) — to help “get my stuff back.”

Bell noted that U-Haul doesn’t put GPS on their trucks, and asked, “Maybe you could do something to make sure that companies like uhaul put gps on their vehicles so when theft occurs, I could at least know where my stuff went.”

In additional posts, Bell added:

I’m like moving out of my house because I can’t afford to live here anymore, my kid just broke his femur at one of your many, underfunded SFUSD schools and there was no nurse present to help him, I had to push him to my car in a rolling office chair – lmao WTF is this city?

I just want my shit back, the sentimental stuff, please. I don’t about the people who stole it, people steal shit, I just hope they take the stuff they need and I can recover the personal stuff that’s the stuff I’m struggling with.

To make matters worse, Bell said U-Haul is still charging her for the rental.

After hundreds of comments mocking her plight, Bell announced, “Going to mute this thread for a bit but I appreciate all the advice and support. I’ll keep you posted if I hear anything.”

While some social media users are being sympathetic, many are not letting Bell off easy, since she has reportedly promoted defunding the police in the past.

“Call the police,” Dan mockingly suggested.

“Your stuff went to less fortunate people. Consider it wealth distribution!” another person mocked.

Drew wrote, “Those politicians are not get you your stuff back, dumbass. They’re the reason it got stolen.”

Bell fired back at her critics. “It’s wild they are calling me an activist for a few tweets. But it’s even better to see the tough on crime crowd celebrate crime,” she wrote.
