Joe Biden issued a ‘blanket’ pardon for his son, Hunter, last weekend. Now, he’s reportedly considering doing the same thing for other Democrats, even though they haven’t yet been charged with a crime.
On Sunday, Dec. 1, Biden not only pardoned his son for charges already brought against him, but for any other offenses he “may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 1, 2014 through December 1, 2024.”
According to a Politico report on Wednesday, Biden aides are terrified that the incoming Trump administration may bring charges against some prominent Democrats. The report states:
President Joe Biden’s senior aides are conducting a vigorous internal debate over whether to issue preemptive pardons to a range of current and former public officials who could be targeted with President-elect Donald Trump’s return to the White House, according to senior Democrats familiar with the discussions.
Biden’s aides are deeply concerned about a range of current and former officials who could find themselves facing inquiries and even indictments, a sense of alarm which has only accelerated since Trump last weekend announced the appointment of Kash Patel to lead the FBI. Patel has publicly vowed to pursue Trump’s critics.
The White House officials, however, are carefully weighing the extraordinary step of handing out blanket pardons to those who’ve committed no crimes, both because it could suggest impropriety, only fueling Trump’s criticisms, and because those offered preemptive pardons may reject them.
Democrats specifically mentioned three people who could be on the receiving end of a potential ‘preemptive pardon’: Sen.-elect Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), former GOP Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming and Anthony Fauci, the former head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
“The remarkable, 11-year breadth of Biden’s pardon of his son Hunter illustrated how worried the White House is about Trump officials seizing any potential openings for prosecution,” Politico wrote.
Conservatives are weighing in on the stunning report, with many suggesting this is a clear admission of guilt.
Filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza wrote, “If Biden issues preemptive pardons, I say: prosecute them anyway! Put them through the ordeal of a trial. Ruin them financially. The pardon erases the sentence; it does not prevent the process of getting to a conviction. Moreover trials are a showcase for exposing crimes!”

“Nothing says someone is a complete criminal like giving them a preemptive pardon before they are even charged with a crime,” wrote journalist Laura Loomer.

Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk asked, “Why would they need to do that if they did nothing wrong?”
John Strand, a former “January 6 political prisoner,” responded, “Wait, wait, wait—hold on a sec. Since when did we decide to simply accept this business of PREEMPTIVE pardons? That’s not a pardon, that’s a government license to commit crimes. Are we the mafia now?”

Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA), wrote, “Biden is considering a “pre-emptive pardon” for Fauci? Seriously? The radical Left refuses to be accountable for the destruction and deaths they caused with the Wuhan Virus. Reprehensible.”
Jeremy Carl, Senior Fellow at the Claremont Institute, observed, “If they didn’t commit crimes, there would be nothing to pardon.”
Former Trump adviser Roger Stone commented, “Wait. If none of these people did anything wrong why would they need pardons?. Civil lawsuits against Liz Cheney and Adam Schiff will prove their guilt.”

Singer John Rich had predicted on Monday, “It wouldn’t surprise me if Fauci was pre-pardoned as well.”
After the Politico report came out, Rich added, “Told ya.”

If Schiff needs a pardon for his crimes doesn’t that mean he should be kicked out of the Senate?
