President-elect Trump announced two key White House staff appointments Friday.
Steven Cheung, former Trump-Vance campaign communications director and a strategic response director during Trump’s first term, will serve as assistant to the president and director of communications. Sergio Gor, a Trump Jr. ally and former pro-Trump PAC Right For America leader, will head the presidential personnel office.
“Steven Cheung and Sergio Gor have been trusted Advisors since my first Presidential Campaign in 2016, and have continued to champion America First principles throughout my First Term, all the way to our HIstoric Victory in 2024,” Trump said in a statement. “I am thrilled to have them join my White House, as we Make America Great Again!”
Sergio Gor’s appointment to lead the Presidential Personnel Office, first reported by Semafor, was endorsed by Trump Jr. Both Gor and Steven Cheung are loyal to President-elect Trump, who has emphasized avoiding disloyal appointees in his new administration.
“The biggest mistake I made was I picked some people – I picked some great people, you know, but you don’t think about that. I picked some people that I shouldn’t have picked,” Trump said last month on the “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast. “I picked a few people that I shouldn’t have picked.”
