Two top New York Democrat officials, Gov. Kathy Hochul and state Attorney General Letitia James, reacted to President-Elect Donald Trump’s landslide victory with a televised liberal meltdown Wednesday afternoon.

In a dramatic press conference, Hochul first spoke, making reference to a line on the Statue of Liberty that says, “I lift my lamp beside the golden door.”

“Now perhaps you woke up today feeling that that lamp doesn’t shine quite as bright anymore… but we will meet this moment… New Yorkers will persevere over the next four years,” she claimed, as if Trump’s victory is the end of the world.

Hochul turned the microphone over to James, who then unleashed her outrage over the outcome of the election.

In her speech, James thanked New Yorkers for turning out “in record numbers” to vote on Tuesday.

“I congratulate the President-Elect Donald Trump, and if possible, we will work with his administration, but we will not compromise our values or our integrity or our principals,” she sneered, as she launched into a threatening tirade.

“We did not expect this result, but we are prepared to respond to this result. My office has been preparing for several months, because we’ve been here before… and we are prepared to fight back once again,” she fumed.

James claimed that, as attorney general, “it is my job to protect and defend the rights of New Yorkers and the rule of law, and I will not shrink from that responsibility.”

She then touted that her office had taken over 100 legal actions against the Trump administration when he was in office before.

James claimed that she knows Trump’s “playbook,” has “studied their platforms, identified certain possibilities and created contingency plans.” She also threw in “Project 2025,” which Trump has emphatically said he had nothing to do with.

Ironically, James, who ran for office on her vow to “get Trump,” then declared, “Despite what has happened on the nation stage, we will continue to stand tall in the face of injustice, revenge or retribution.”

“We are guardians of the law, and we are prepared to fight back,” James sneered.

Social media users are responding with a blistering rebuke:

X user Jeff G. wrote, “Letitia James, New York City, Attorney General just fired shots across our new presidents bow before he ever steps foot back in the capital! This right here shows….. the left has learned absolutely nothing from all of this! Game on folks, these people are all sick and need removed from any position of power.”
