Former President Trump has secured a second term, defeating Vice President Kamala Harris after an unprecedented election cycle marked by two attempts on his life.
Though Harris entered the race just over 100 days ago following President Biden’s withdrawal, Trump successfully surpassed the 270 electoral vote threshold with key victories in battleground states like North Carolina, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Georgia.
Due to her position as vice president, Harris must certify the presidential election results even though she lost. Her sole task will be to declare the election results valid officially.
Many on the left are pushing a message for Harris to not only not concede but also not to certify the results following Trump’s win.
