Jimmy Kimmel’s recent 19-minute monologue intended to dissuade Republicans from voting for Trump appears to have backfired, with some viewers expressing irritation at the lengthy plea, according to a report from Daily Mail.
The comedian used clips from Trump’s speeches, interviews, and rallies to highlight aspects he believes illustrate Trump’s unfitness for leadership. Kimmel assured viewers he would avoid “liberal virtue signaling” but ultimately frustrated many, including those who pledged to vote for Trump out of spite toward Kimmel’s pandering.
“Am I biased against Donald Trump? Yes,” Kimmel admitted. “Do I think I have good reasons for being biased against him? Yes. And I’m probably wrong, but I think when you hear some of those reasons, you might agree with me, even just a little bit.”
Kimmel criticized Trump’s vague healthcare plans, fixation on transgender issues, and his Chinese-made “God Bless the USA” Bible. However, his monologue alienated some viewers, with a few stating they planned to vote for Trump out of spite. Below are a few written comments:
“I was on the fence, but since Hollywood elites like Jimmy Kimmel are supporting Harris, I’ll cast a vote for Trump.”
“Kimmel fell off and has gone woke.”
“Remember when Johnny Carson and Jay Leno were hosts and it was all about class and entertainment? Jimmy is a clown.”
