After insulting half the country by calling all Trump supporters “garbage” during a campaign call at the White House on Tuesday, Joe Biden is now trying to walk it back.
Biden was reportedly participating in the online conference at the same time Kamala Harris was delivering an outdoor speech near the White House, which was touted as her final pitch to convince Americans to elect her as president.
But it was Biden’s insult to Trump supporters that has captured all the attention, instead of Harris’ speech.
Amid all the outrage from conservatives, a post was then made on Biden’s X page, trying to walk it back.
“Earlier today I referred to the hateful rhetoric about Puerto Rico spewed by Trump’s supporter at his Madison Square Garden rally as garbage—which is the only word I can think of to describe it. His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable. That’s all I meant to say. The comments at that rally don’t reflect who we are as a nation,” Biden’s post reads.

In addition to posting the statement for Biden, the White House is trying to clean it up by claiming conservatives are overlooking an apostrophe. A White House transcript claims Biden was saying, “The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporter’s.”
The official White House transcript needs to be immediately corrected. Notice the use of the apostrophe in the transcript
