Desperate to kill former President Donald Trump’s momentum in the 2024 presidential race, the liberal media is launching multiple smear campaigns, and the Harris team is picking it up and running with it.

Just two weeks ahead of Election Day, the New York Times released a wild “hit piece” about Trump on Tuesday, featuring John Kelly, who served as Trump’s chief of staff from 2017-2019, and then later turned against Trump.

Kelly has claimed Trump is a “fascist,” compared him to Adolf Hitler, and alleged that Trump admired Hitler. Kelly also claimed Trump made disparaging comments about U.S. military members, calling them “suckers and losers,” an allegation Trump has vehemently denied.

The New York Times begins with the following:

Few top officials spent more time behind closed doors in the White House with President Donald J. Trump than John F. Kelly, the former Marine general who was his longest-serving chief of staff.

With Election Day looming, Mr. Kelly — deeply bothered by Mr. Trump’s recent comments about employing the military against his domestic opponents — agreed to three on-the-record, recorded discussions with a reporter for The New York Times about the former president, providing some of his most wide-ranging comments yet about Mr. Trump’s fitness and character.

The Times then pushed out the wild allegations made by Kelly:

He said that, in his opinion, Mr. Trump met the definition of a fascist, would govern like a dictator if allowed, and had no understanding of the Constitution or the concept of rule of law.

He discussed and confirmed previous reports that Mr. Trump had made admiring statements about Hitler, had expressed contempt for disabled veterans and had characterized those who died on the battlefield for the United States as “losers” and “suckers” — comments first reported in 2020 by The Atlantic.

The Times also released audio clips of Kelly’s allegations against Trump.

“Trump’s alleged “Hitler” remarks must have disturbed John Kelly so badly that he decided to sit on them for 5.5 years, only to discuss them 13 days until a presidential election. 🤔,” quipped prominent X user “The First.”

Michael Morrison also mocked, “John Kelly was so shocked at how much Trump admired Hitler that he forgot about it for 5 years and conveniently remembered 2 weeks before the election. Got it.”

Kelly tried to claim Trump is a “fascist.”

Kamala Harris pounced on the New York Times hit piece and went on a tirade in a statement to the press from the vice presidential residence and claimed, “Trump said he wanted generals like Adolf Hitler had. He wants a military that is not loyal to the Constitution, but loyal to him… This is a window into who Donald Trump really is from the people who know him best.”

Harris raged in a post on her personal X account, “Donald Trump is out for unchecked power. He wants a military like Adolf Hitler had, who will be loyal to him, not our Constitution. He is unhinged, unstable, and given a second term, there would be no one to stop him from pursuing his worst impulses.”

Former Rep. Liz Cheney, the Republican who was ousted from office by voters for her anti-Trump antics, also seized on the chance to promote Kelly’s claims by slamming Trump’s supporters.

“If your response to Gen John Kelly, gold star father & Trump’s WH chief of staff, confirming that Trump praised Hitler & called members of our military “suckers and losers” is to defend Trump, you need to look in the mirror and realize your dishonor will live forever,” she sneered.

CPAC host Mercedes Schlapp pushed back Wednesday morning, writing on X, “I worked for John Kelly and don’t believe him. His last ditch effort to stop Donald Trump is desperate. This is a personal vendetta from a staffer who failed at his job and believed as a chief of staff that he should have been the ultimate decisionmaker. President Trump loves America, will preserve our freedoms, and has done more for the Jewish people than any other president.”

Kelly again pushed the “suckers and losers” hoax, claiming Trump insulted members of he military.

Former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany blasted Kelly’s claims and the multiple liberal outlets who are releasing the hit pieces on Trump during a Fox & Friends segment Wednesday morning.

McEnany said she had never seen Trump so devastated as when Kelly first came out with the allegation that the president had called military members “suckers and losers,” and explained that Trump was appalled over the idea that anyone would say such a thing, much less accuse him of saying it.

Nick Ayers, who served as Chief of Staff to then-vice president Mike Pence, also spoke out. He wrote:

“I’ve avoided commenting on intra-staff leaks or rumors or even lies as it relates to my time at the White House but General Kelly’s comments regarding President Trump are too egregious to ignore. I was with each of them more than most, and his commentary is *patently false.*”

Trump National Security Adviser Kash Patel said in an interview, “I was President Trump’s Chief of Staff at the Department of Defense… What I saw was a Commander-in-Chief who brought home over 50 hostages… more than every president before him combined… They can print whatever they want. I was there. I saw a man who fought for our veterans and uniformed military.”

Former National Security Advisor Keith Kellogg wrote, “Vice President Harris is a fraud. I was in the White House at a senior level much longer than General Kelly. He is complicit in this fraud and has lied to the American people. His lies, as well as John Bolton’s, are a disservice to Nation at this critical time. So are the VP’s.”

Journalist Julie Kelly wrote, “I just did a search of Jon Karl’s book that extensively covered John Kelly’s term as WH chief of staff. There is no mention of Kelly ever discussing Trump’s admiration of Hitler. But there’s lots of doozies about Kelly’s open contempt for the president.”

CNN has seized on Kelly’s comments and is blasting out the allegations to their viewers.
