From the Daily Caller: The Supreme Court declined Monday to hear former Trump attorney Michael Cohen’s case against his one-time boss.
Cohen alleged former President Donald Trump, former Attorney General William Barr and other federal officials put him back in prison as retaliation for promoting a book critical of Trump.
“[A]s it stands, this case represents the principle that presidents and their subordinates can lock away critics of the executive without consequence,” Cohen’s petition states.
Biden’s Department of Justice (DOJ) urged the Supreme Court not to take the case. Trump’s attorneys argued that Cohen’s complaint was “entirely devoid of merit.”
The Second Circuit Court of Appeals previously affirmed a lower court’s decision to dismiss Cohen’s lawsuit.
Trump lawyer Alina Abba declared in a statement posted on social media, “Michael Cohen has exhausted every avenue of his pathetic attempt to drag my client into court time and time again. As expected, the Supreme Court has correctly denied Michael Cohen’s petition and he must finally abandon his frivolous and desperate claims.”

Law professor Jonathan Turley wrote, “The Supreme Court just rejected Michael Cohen’s last bid effort to revive his lawsuit against Trump for his incarceration as a politically manipulated case. Cohen’s effort to claim victimization is belied by his prior admission to criminal and unethical acts.”

In September, Cohen dramatically announced that if Trump wins in November, “I’m outta here. I mean, I’m already working on a foreign passport with a completely different name.”
He even declared he’s leaving his family behind, saying, “I don’t know how it’s going to work, as far as dealing with my wife and my children. I certainly don’t want them moving to where I’m looking to go.”
