Norway has implemented temporary border controls with Western European countries due to an elevated terror threat, as announced by police. These measures will be in effect until October 22.

Norway’s security agency, PST, raised the terror threat level from “moderate” to “high” due to a heightened risk, especially to Jewish and Israeli targets, influencing the decision for border controls.

The new border controls, implemented due to the increased terror threat, won’t check all travelers and are not expected to cause delays.

Although not in the EU, Norway belongs to the Schengen Area, sharing borders with Sweden and Finland.
