In a post on his Truth Social page Friday afternoon, former President Donald Trump announced a novel plan he intends to implement to help people get through natural disasters, should he be elected back to the Oval Office in November.
Trump said for anyone who purchases a generator for their home, retroactive to September 1, 2024, the cost of the generator will be a 100% tax deductible expense.
The offer will be available for a full year, until August 31, 2025.
He wrote:
“North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee and, always, Louisiana, Texas, and other States: Due to the unusual activity of Storms, Hurricanes, and Tornadoes, and other Natural Disasters, especially in well-reported parts of our Country, when I win the Presidential Election of 2024, on November 5th, the Most Important Day in the History of our Country, we are going to allow you, retroactive to September 1st, 2024, to purchase a Generator for your Home, which will, in so doing, entitle you to fully deduct the TOTAL cost of said Generator for Income Tax Purposes.
“With what our Country is going through, and with the poor response you’re getting from the White House and the Federal Government, including Lyin’ Kamala Harris and Crooked Joe Biden, this is something you fully deserve. This Tax Deduction is available until August 31st, 2025.”
Students for Trump chair Ryan Fournier wrote, “Trump pledges to allow retroactive purchases of generators, which will allow people to FULLY DEDUCT the total cost of the generator for income tax purposes. This alone is going to help millions when these brutal storms hit our coasts.”

Liberals have reacted in true leftist fashion. Raw Story complained, “Trump tells hurricane victims he’ll help cover cost of generators — but only if elected.”
NOTE: Trump would have no authority to even provide the tax deduction if he’s not elected.

Another liberal claimed Trump is “desperate” by making the pledge.
Trump is so desperate that he’s making promises that he cannot keep, & it’s really sad. No tax on tips, no tax on Soc Sec, no tax on OT, SALT reinstatement and now free generators lol

Yet another whined, “Generac generators should NOT get any tax credits because they are NOT clean energy!”
