Proverbs 10:28
The prospect of the righteous is joy,
but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing.
[This verse comes from the New International Version]
This verse contrasts the outcomes of the righteous and the wicked.
It teaches that the virtuous, who align with God’s will, can look forward to joy and fulfillment in the future. This joy is rooted in their faith and hope in God’s promises.
On the other hand, the hopes of the wicked—those who oppose righteousness—ultimately lead to disappointment and failure, as their plans and desires lack a solid foundation.
The verse emphasizes the importance of living a moral, faithful life. True joy and success come from righteousness, while wickedness leads to emptiness.
