From Fox Business: Finance guru and mentor Dave Ramsey has interviewed presidents in the past, but his latest one-on-one with former President Trump was completely different.
“I tried to just sit back and listen. I wanted to talk about ideas on a pretty low, even keel instead of getting into stump hyperbole and all of that. And by and large, if you watch the interview, we were able to do that,” Ramsey said Wednesday on “Varney & Co.,” the same day as the interview’s release.
“He was very direct and very knowledgeable about tax rates and about the things that move in the energy world,” he continued, “and how that does intersect the economy, and how to control a commodity market as best you can from the presidential seat.”
“The Ramsey Show” uploaded the nearly 25-minute interview with Trump on their YouTube channel titled, “Can Trump’s Plan Clean Up America’s Financial Mess?” Ramsey opens with questions about inflation and then goes into topics like U.S. energy dominance, real estate and the president’s two assassination attempts.
Ramsey announced on Sept. 27:
Several weeks ago, our team reached out Vice President Harris and President Donald Trump and offered the ability to sit down and have a discussion about ideas. I’m sick and tired of all the mudslinging. I like to talk about ideas, because I think ideas are worth fighting over and arguing about. So we offered to sit down and talk about ideas in a long-form interview.
The Harris camp has our request, and the last word we got, it was under review. So it’s not been a yes, not been a no from them.
But I flew to New York. And at this time yesterday, I was in Trump Tower interviewing President Donald Trump.
So our first question, I’ll go ahead and preview it. I just said Mr. President, we talk to real people every day. Let me tell you what they’re concerned about. They’re not concerned about a bunch of the stuff you’re talking about. The stuff they’re concerned about is $7 eggs, $5 gas, 7% interest rates, and house prices going up faster than their wages are going up. This black cloud that’s over our economic situation right now.
And we could talk about how it got there. We could talk about what you used to do. We could talk about the current administration. But I don’t really want to. What I want to talk about is what you’re going to do in the first 90 days to get this black cloud off of America.
And that was my first question. And I’ll ask Vice President Harris this exact same question if I get the opportunity. The interview with Trump will be available Wednesday, October 2. You’re going to want to see it.

On Sept. 28, Ramsey gave a few clues about his experience at Trump Tower:
“Earlier this week, I was in Trump Tower interviewing President @realDonaldTrump. I’ve been in high-security situations before, but I’ve never seen security like this in my life. It was unbelievable. The men and women in charge of security are doing their jobs, that’s for sure,” Ramsey wrote.
“Just getting in front of that building, getting into that building, going up an elevator in that building, going into the room for our interview in that building… it’s an interesting process. Especially with all the crap that’s going on with Trump in particular,” he added.

Posting a video of himself meeting Trump, Ramsey wrote, “Last week, I flew to Trump Tower to sit down with President @realDonaldTrump and talk about ideas. It was fun. It was interesting. I’ve interviewed past presidents before, but never anything quite like this. And I’ll do the same thing with Vice President Harris if I get the chance.”
