From the Charlotte Observer: Ivanka Trump flew into Hickory on Wednesday morning to deliver 300 Starlinks to be flown out to western North Carolina. The devices will help flood victims connect to high-speed internet.

Medic Corps, one of at least four organizations running relief operations out of the Hickory Regional Airport, coordinated the visit. One group, Operation Airdrop, is flying supplies by helicopter to people in western North Carolina.

The daughter of former President Donald Trump took photos with pilots, airport staff and volunteers who have been organizing the five truckloads of supplies delivered from nearby communities.

Sharing several photos, Ivanka wrote in a social media post:

“The devastation we witnessed today in Western North Carolina was heart breaking. Hurricane Helene brought 16 inches of water (40 trillion gallons across its path) to the region within 24 hours wiping out homes, building, highways and sometimes whole communities. I was grateful to once again join my friends at CityServe, Love and Life, and Mercy Chefs on their mission to deliver crucial relief to first responders and families affected by the destruction.

“Love and Life coordinated air rescues for stranded individuals and delivered and set up over 300 Starlinks donated by SpaceX (thank you @elonmusk!) to help restore vital communication for Fire Departments. We provided hot meals, fresh produce from Planet Harvest, and emergency supplies to those in need.

“God bless all the families affected and the first responders working tirelessly to aid them. ❤️‍🩹.”

“You’re most welcome!,” Musk replied.

On Tuesday, Musk had announced “Since the Hurricane Helene disaster, SpaceX has sent as many Starlink terminals as possible to help areas in need. Earlier today, @realDonaldTrump alerted me to additional people who need Starlink Internet in North Carolina. We are sending them terminals right away.”

“Starlink terminals will now work automatically without need for payment in the areas affected by Hurricane Helene,” Musk announced on Wednesday.

“YUGE shout out to @IvankaTrump and the Love and Light Foundation for flying in 300 STARLINK units for the #helene victims of the #NorthCarolinaFlood,” wrote United Cajun Navy.

City Serve announced, “@IvankaTrump was in Asheville, NC, helping distribute hot meals, fresh produce & emergency supplies to devastated families in the region. She helped alongside our CityServe team & other nonprofits, including Love and Life & Mercy Chefs.”

“Had the FCC not illegally revoked the SpaceX Starlink award, it would probably have saved lives in North Carolina. Lawfare costs lives,” Musk declared.
