From the New York Post: Vice President Kamala Harris’ husband is being accused of slapping his ex-girlfriend for flirting with a valet worker at a ritzy gala in 2012, a new report claims.

Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, 59, supposedly struck his then-girlfriend — a successful New York attorney — in the face so hard she spun around while in a valet line after an event at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2012, the three unnamed friends of the woman reportedly told the Daily Mail.

All three sources requested not to be named due to fear of retaliation from Emhoff, the Daily Mail said.

They shared a series of photos showing Emhoff posing with the woman in 2012, as well as other documents related to the allegations.

The Daily Mail, who first reported on the incident, referred to the former girlfriend as ‘Jane,’ since she did not wish her name to be made public.

According to Jane’s friends, she and Emhoff had been dating about 3 months, and said he had told Jane at the time that he had earlier had an affair with his daughter’s nanny, Najen Naylor, and gotten her pregnant.

On the night Emhoff slapped ‘Jane,’ he reportedly claimed he thought she was flirting the the valet worker. One of Jane’s friends, a New York businessman, said Jane called him sobbing that night, and told him about the incident and said he broke up with Emhoff that night because of the slap.

“It woke her up about the self-delusion she was having, explaining away the teacher story. She realized he was bad news. This was the first time she saw his ugly side,” another friend said about Jane and Emhoff.

Emhoff and Kamala Harris were married in 2014, after meeting on a blind date in 2013.

Molly Hemingway of The Federalist wrote, “This is a horrifying story. I will say that it matches with something I recently learned from two California individuals who know Emhoff fairly well and said his reputation for poor treatment of women was notorious in their circles.”
