From the New York PostNew York magazine reporter Olivia Nuzzi name-checked Robert F. Kennedy Jr. numerous times after their romantic relationship is thought to have started — while her snooty attack on those accusing reporters of having flings with sources has come back to bite her.

The 31-year-old star political reporter was placed on leave after admitting a non-physical “personal relationship” with a former 2024 campaign subject while reporting on the presidential campaign, the magazine said late Thursday.

Neither Nuzzi nor the magazine divulged the identity, but sources told The Post that the Washington correspondent had allegedly been sexting Kennedy — while she was engaged and he was married.

Their alleged fling kicked off sometime after Nuzzi penned a profile on Kennedy that was published in November 2023, STATUS news reported, citing sources.

A spokesperson for Kennedy said in a statement after the news broke,  “Mr. Kennedy only met Olivia Nuzzi once in his life for an interview she requested, which yielded a hit piece.”

The report notes that Kennedy has been married to actress Cheryl Hines since 2014.

Meanwhile, Nuzzi was engaged to Politico reporter and collaborator Ryan Lizza in 2022, but, according to sources, the pair recently called off their engagement.

The New York Magazine released the following statement to CNN’s Status report:

“Recently our Washington Correspondent Olivia Nuzzi acknowledged to the magazine’s editors that she had engaged in a personal relationship with a former subject relevant to the 2024 campaign while she was reporting on the campaign, a violation of the magazine’s standards around conflicts of interest and disclosures.

“Had the magazine been aware of this relationship, she would not have continued to cover the presidential campaign. An internal review of her published work has found no inaccuracies nor evidence of bias. She is currently on leave from the magazine, and the magazine is conducting a more thorough third-party review. We regret this violation of our readers’ trust.”

Nuzzi confirmed in a statement to Status that “earlier this year, the nature of some communication” between herself “and a former reporting subject turned personal.”

“During that time, I did not directly report on the subject nor use them as a source. The relationship was never physical but should have been disclosed to prevent the appearance of a conflict. I deeply regret not doing so immediately and apologize to those I’ve disappointed, especially my colleagues at New York,” she added.

Attention has now been drawn to a post Nuzzi made on Twitter in January 2015, in which she stated, “Why does Hollywood think female reporters sleep with their sources?”

Nuzzi is now catching a lot of backlash over the old tweet:
